Every beer we have brewed with another brewery, from our first in 2021 to the one we are brewing with Samuel Adams now. Newest first.
We won the 2026 Brewing & Business Experienceship from Samuel Adams' Brewing the American Dream program after pouring Metropolis IPA at the Crafting Dreams Beer Bash in Brooklyn on June 11, 2026. The prize includes a week at the Boston brewery with Jim Koch's team, a collaboration beer and a slot pouring at the Great American Beer Festival in Denver. The beer is due in the first part of 2027.
Brewed like a classic Czech pilsner, dosed with orange blossom honey, then dry-hopped like a West Coast pale ale with Simcoe, Superdelic and Motueka. Our 2026 Barrel & Flow beer, canned by Cinderlands.
An America 250 beer named for Doll, an enslaved cook and matriarch at Mount Vernon. Brewed with persimmons and apricots, both grown on the 18th-century estate, to honor the enslaved brewers largely missing from early American beer history. Lost Lagers' Mike Stein, who researches Mount Vernon's historic beers, worked on the recipe. Released in 16 oz cans and on draft around Chicagoland.
DC's entry in the ALEMAX worldwide series, which ties runners, sneakerheads and craft beer together. Inspired by the Air Max 90 Volt: an ultra-refreshing blonde ale with lemon peel and a touch of sea salt, made as a post-run recovery pour. It launched with a District Run Collective community run and DJ sets at Bluejacket.
A balanced West Coast pale brewed with fonio, the West African ancient grain, and the Michael James Jackson hop blend. Elliott calls Green Bench "the homies, and also GOATs." This was the beer that closed out our 2025.
A Belgian-style tripel Elliott calls "dangerously crushable." Named for LIBCO co-founder and brewer Jasmine Dill's health journey after a rare-condition diagnosis, and brewed to raise awareness for people who have been misdiagnosed. Released across the DMV after the festival, with benefit shirts sold alongside it.
A spin on the classic altbier, brewed at Tröegs for Barrel & Flow 2025. It keeps the light red hue and moderate bitterness, then adds Mosaic and Galaxy late in the boil and in the dry hop for sweet citrus and stone fruit on a weighty, dry-finishing ale. A pilot batch, Scratch #532, poured at 6.5% on Tröegs' side-pull faucet in June as a sneak peek. DC Beer ranked it in the top 25 at Snallygaster 2025.
A crisp, expressive NZ-style pilsner hopped with Nectaron and Rakau for white peach, passion fruit, apricot and pine, bright and dry. Elliott called the Bluejacket collab "a long-overdue bucket-list item."
The first time every Black-owned beer brand in the region brewed together: Soul Mega, Liquid Intrusion, Bitter Fruit, Black Beauty, Black Viking, Joyhound, Urban Garden, Hennessey Creek, Sankofa, Patuxent and Black Brew Movement. A hoppy porter with chocolate and roasted malts and cacao nibs from Ghana, coordinated by Jordan Harvey and Black Brew Movement as the first United Pours project. Elliott: "I finally got to work with the other Black-owned brands in Maryland and Virginia."
A three-way brew sketched over email, inspired by a Thai basil lemonade shandy Stone Richmond's head brewer couldn't stop drinking. Hopped with Amarillo, Citra and Lemon Drop, then finished with lemon peel and Thai basil in the whirlpool. "Our goal was to blend the familiar with the fantastical." Draft and 16 oz cans.
A tribute to Henry Simms, who won his freedom from enslavement and became one of the first Black business owners in Herndon, Virginia. Ripe peach against floral chamomile on a saison base, brewed by several of the region's Black-owned breweries together. Sold in 4-packs of 16 oz cans.
A smooth wheat backbone carrying big, juicy blackberry flavor, built as a summer crusher. Brewed at Red Bear's brewpub in the old Uline Arena.
A small-batch hazy IPA with New Belgium, released with a one-line note: "let your soul shine!"
DC Beer Week's annual all-city collaboration, brewed at Right Proper in 2022 with Soul Mega among the participating brands. It was also the official beer of Art All Night that year.
Brewed by Elliott Johnson and Jahi Wartts with City-State founder James Warner. A dry-finishing saison with floral, fruity and spicy notes and malty depth, built from European, American and New Zealand ingredients.
An imperial stout conditioned on oak staves soaked in PX dark rum from DC's Cotton & Reed. Dark chocolate, roasty coffee, tobacco and toffee, with dark fruit, molasses and vanilla from the wood. Kettle-hopped with Cascade and African Queen, the same hop in our Rhythm & Beauty.
Our entry in Weathered Souls' global Black Is Beautiful project, brewed with our contract brewer at the time. We made it a black lager: plum, toffee and caramel, a gentle roasted coffee finish, and red berry and woody notes from African Queen hops. All proceeds went to the Greater Washington Urban League. Lightly modified, this recipe became Rhythm & Beauty.
